The way to illustrate the pitfalls of socialism to your children and grandchildren in a way they will understand is to use the analogy of the two students. The first student is hard working and getting an “A,” while the other student is lazy and is getting an “F.” Socialism dictates that this isn’t fair, so their grades are equalized whereas the “A” student is bumped down two grades, and the “F” student is bumped up two grades, resulting in both students getting a “C.” The problem of course is that the “A” student only works hard for so long until he gives up because he knows that no matter how hard he works he will only get a “C” in the name of fairness. My kids get it, and so will yours.
